The second you pass through the gates, you’re transported. The first thing you'll want to do is explore the heart of the castle:
The Great Hall & State Rooms: This is your "wow" moment. Stand beneath a soaring ceiling, surrounded by one of the most impressive collections of armour and weapons in the UK. Then, wander through the opulent State Rooms, decked out in velvet and gold, and see exactly how the Earls of Warwick lived.
The Kingmaker Exhibition: Don't miss this! It’s an incredibly lifelike journey back to 1471. You'll join Richard "The Kingmaker" Neville as he prepares for battle, complete with the sights, sounds, and even the smells of a medieval army getting ready for war.
This is what truly sets Warwick Castle apart. The shows here are world-class and will have your heart pounding.
The Falconer's Quest: This is, without a doubt, the UK's largest birds of prey show. Find a spot on the riverbank and prepare to be amazed as majestic eagles, speedy falcons, and massive vultures soar, dive, and skim the water's surface right over your head. It’s a truly magical experience.
The Mighty Trebuchet: Ever seen a medieval siege engine in action? You’re about to. Gather 'round as the castle's authentic, 60-foot-tall trebuchet is cranked by hand and launches a projectile hundreds of feet into the air. The whoosh and thud are unforgettable!
Wars of the Roses LIVE!: (Seasonal) If you're visiting in the summer, you cannot miss this. Choose your side—Lancaster or York—and roar for your knights as they clash in a full-scale, thunderous jousting battle.
See the action for yourself! Get a sneak peek of the incredible shows right here on YouTube.
Ready to get your steps in? The views are more than worth it.
Towers & Ramparts: Climb the ancient stone staircases of Caesar's Tower and Guy's Tower. From the top, you’re rewarded with staggering 360-degree views over Warwick, the River Avon, and the beautiful Warwickshire countryside.
Horrible Histories® Maze: Perfect for families (or anyone young at heart!). Get hilariously lost in time as you navigate challenges from the Vicious Vikings, Stormin’ Normans, and more.
As your local hosts, we want you to have the best day possible. Here’s our advice:
Arrive Early, Plan Smart: There is so much to see! Get there near opening time and immediately take a photo of the show schedule at the entrance. The Trebuchet and Falconer's Quest are must-sees, so plan your other exploring around them.
Wear Comfortable Shoes: This is not the day for fashion. You’ll be walking on cobblestones, grassy banks, and climbing a lot of spiral stairs. Your feet will thank you.
Pack a Picnic: While there are food stalls, the 64 acres of grounds designed by "Capability" Brown are simply stunning. Pack a lunch (and maybe a bottle of prosecco!) and find a spot by the river or in the beautiful Peacock Garden.
For the Brave... The Castle Dungeon is an intense, actor-led experience (with an extra charge and age-rating) that brings the castle's most gruesome stories to life. It's genuinely scary—and brilliant fun if you're up for it!
After a full day of climbing towers, cheering on knights, and uncovering centuries of secrets, imagine the perfect ending: a short, peaceful walk back to Cherry Street. You can kick off your shoes, pour a well-deserved drink, and relax in your own private space, surrounded by all the comforts of home.
